Vanessa de Jaegher, creator of precious stories
Lulled by jewelry from an early age, Vanessa de Jaegher inherited her love of stones. Although her father was a diamond merchant and her mother a jewelry designer, Vanessa studied law and then graphic design, before co-founding the Stone Paris jewelry brand in 2004. It was on this occasion that she tried her hand at collaboration for the first time, designing a line of gold and diamond jewelry for Bonpoint.
In September 2012, Vanessa reinterpreted the iconic Poiray heart for an exclusive collaboration. An acclaimed line that foreshadowed the birth of de Jaegher, in September 2013.
Nourished by vintage, gipsy and rock’n’roll references, Vanessa explores with de Jaegher a playful, baroque imagination a tribute to a bohemian childhood of travel and play. Inspired by art and stories both big and small, Vanessa creates precious jewels that combine the ethnic and the fairy-tale to better reflect the life of the woman who wears them.
From sketches to jewellery
Vanessa de Jaegher personally designs every piece of jewelry in her collection, infusing each creation with her unique vision and keen artistic sense. This creative process, which she carries out with unparalleled meticulousness and passion, ensures that each piece truly reflects her distinctive style and love of detail.
Once the designs are finalized, the jewelry comes to life in Thailand, a country dear to Vanessa’s heart. Her father, a diamond dealer, already worked there, giving her an early insight into the skills of local craftsmen. Vanessa chose Thailand for its recognized expertise in jewelry and for the personal ties she has forged there. This collaboration with Thai artisans enables her to transform her designs into unique jewels, combining family tradition with modern techniques.
From Thailand with love
Each piece of silver, gold and diamond jewelry by Vanessa de Jaegher is handcrafted in Thailand, in workshops on a human scale. Particular care is given to the choice and quality of materials. Many of the steps involved in making each piece are carried out by hand.
The choice of diamonds is a crucial step in the creative process. Vanessa selects each diamond with meticulous care, choosing stones of the highest quality. Diamonds are sourced mainly from India, or from Thai diamantaires renowned for their expertise. These ethically sourced, certified diamonds are then cut with extreme precision to reveal their full beauty and brilliance. Each stone is carefully inspected to ensure that it meets the quality standards, ensuring that each piece of jewelry is not only beautiful, but also long-lasting.
